Andy's Burgers changes name to Highway 55
Mount Olive-based chain Andy's Burgers Shakes & Fries has officially changed its name to Highway 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries, company officials said.

Mount Olive-based chain Andy's Burgers Shakes & Fries has officially changed its name to Highway 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries, company officials said.
In a note on the company's website, officials say the concept and food at the restaurant will stay the same. The new signs should be up by the summer on all current locations and the new restaurants the chain plans to open across the southeast.
The name change helps the group with expanding outside of North Carolina. The Triangle Business Journal reported that Andy's Burgers founder and President Kenny Moore changed the name to avoid conflict over the trademark for the name "Andy's" outside of the state.
Andy's operates 100 restaurants throughout central and eastern North Carolina. It has also made our Five Faves list for best dessert for its frozen custard.
