An Overhaul for the Charlotte Rescue Mission

As winter falls upon Charlotte, NC, more and more members of the homeless community need shelter from the cold. They rely on services like the Charlotte Rescue Mission to access food, safe places to stay, and other support services, but the Rescue Mission's West First Street home was becoming woefully outdated. The building, constructed in the 1920s, was out of step with those around it, and it was in urgent need of updates to flooring, ceilings, and more.

That's why the agency has undertaken a five week Charlotte remodeling project to rehabilitate the facility so it will be better able to accommodate those in need. With help from the community to cover the nearly $400,000 cost, it should be up and running again soon, and that's good news for its service population.
