Big news for Triangle area American Girl fans: Crabtree Valley Mall's temporary store will open Saturday with a big, weekend-long grand opening celebration.
I wrote about the store last month. It's one of several American Girl stores that are opening temporarily during the holidays across the country. The Raleigh store is scheduled to close on Jan. 28. The store will feature an assortment of the popular American Girl dolls, books and accessories, along with the Doll Hair Salon, where the dolls can get everything from updos to manicures. The salon will be available on a first come, first served basis.
Here's the deal on this weekend's festivities:
The grand opening celebration is set for Saturday and Sunday. Tickets will be required to take part in the grand opening events, which will include a complimentary gift and craft, while supplies last. American Girl also will be hosting a drawing for a free Lea Clark Girl of the Year doll and book.

Tickets will only be available one hour before the opening of the store each day, Saturday and Sunday. Entrance tickets will be available near the store entrance and will only be valid on the day they are issued.

The store hours during opening weekend will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, and noon to 7 p.m., Sunday. The mall opens two hours before the store. Be prepared for lines!

The closest mall entrance to American Girl will be Sears and the parking Blue Deck. Crabtree Valley Mall is at 4325 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh.
