Posted December 25, 2009

— An ambulance was hit by a vehicle while responding to a call Friday afternoon on N.C. Highway 210 in Johnston County.

The crash impact flipped the ambulance on Old Fairgrounds Road, near the Johnston-Harnett county line, authorities said.

The ambulance then hit a SUV, authorities said.

Three emergency workers were inside the ambulance at the time of the crash. They were transported to WakeMed.

Paramedics also took a total of three people from inside the other two vehicles to the hospital.

The injuries of all those involved appeared to be non-life-threatening, authorities said.

Authorities said the ambulance driver might have gone through the intersection before it was clear.

No charges will be filed in the wreck, authorities said.

That sounds like it might have been the EMS from 50-210. They're good folks, and out helping other people on Christmas. Hope they (or whoever was hurt) are ok and back home for the rest of the holiday.
