Amber Alert canceled for Charlotte 11-year-old; uncle arrested in DC

Charlotte, N.C. — The Amber Alert for Arieyana Simone Forney, 11, has been canceled. She has been located and is safe with authorities.
She was reported missing after her guardians, her grandparents, were found dead at their home in east Charlotte. The
The suspects were thought to be armed and dangerous.
The child was located in the Washington, D.C. area in a car.
A female in the car called 911 and gave police the location. Police have not confirmed whether that female was Forney.
A 2005 white Chevy Impala with NC license tag PAV-4294 was seen leaving the Charlotte home. The occupants, of the car are in custody.
Police are investigating the double homicide in the 7500 block of Glencannon Drive.
Police have said Curtis Atkinson, Jr. is the son of the deceased people and is being charged for for their deaths.
