Amazing Closet Remodels from Hometalk

Sometimes, a closet is just in the wrong place at the wrong time. While some of us may struggle to find needed storage space in our homes, longing for just one more closet, others are awash in closet spaces that turn into oversized junk drawers filled with items they can't find a home for. Some users of Hometalk had about enough of that, and they decided to get proactive with these DIY remodeling projects to turn their closets into usable spaces for themselves and their families.

Saving4Six went on an ambitious closet remodeling project, one that involved taking out a wall, installing new paneling, and redoing an old dresser to make it work in the space. The result is a very handy nook for home office projects, with plenty of storage for paperwork and other items.

At DIY By Design, Judy needs a seriously big space to get work done, but unfortunately, she can't pull a room out of nowhere. Enter a brilliantly organized sewing closet, which can be closed up behind the doors when she wants to take a break.

When you need a home craft space, a closet can be a perfect place to put one, especially if you're hurting for room in the rest of the house. Lina installed a great craft area and keeps it very well organized so it's a cinch to work on projects and access what she wants, when she wants it.

A spare closet in a son's room (he had two closets) became a cozy reading nook with a guest bed for visitors. A fantastic use of space and a great way to give a young member of the household a special place of his own so he can nest and read on rainy days. Note the clever installation of a reading light!

This Illinois-based blogger needed a small, serene space to work, and it's safe to say that Tonya Diehl definitely accomplished it with this flawless home office. It's tiny, but perfect for taking a quick writing break. Thanks to the care her Chicago flooring contractors took when they installed the carpeting, the bridge between the office and the rest of the room is seamless, and there are no unsightly flaws in the carpet.

Another  closet was very oddly positioned in the entryway of an otherwise lovely home. Solution? Turn it into an entry bench with shoe storage, making it both practical and welcoming.

Another cozy reading nook here, currently in use by a young resident judging from the books on the shelves! But there's no reason the books can't grow with the reader, and who's to say adults don't need book nooks too?
