All You Need Is Love: Ringo Starr cancels Cary concert over HB2
Following on the heels of Bruce Springsteen, who canceled an April 10 show at the Greensboro Coliseum in opposition to the law, Ringo released a statement saying he would no longer play a scheduled June 18 show at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre.

“I’m sorry to disappoint my fans in the area, but we need to take a stand against this hatred. Spread peace and love,” he said.
The statement went on to state that House Bill 2, which prohibits transgender people from using public bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity, excludes gays, lesbians and transgenders from discrimination protection in employment and public accommodations and bars cities and counties from extending such protection to them, “opens the door to discrimination everywhere.”
“How sad that they feel that this group of people cannot be defended,” he said.
Starr asked that fans in North Carolina support organizations that are fighting to overturn the law.
According to the Koka Booth Amphitheatre, tickets purchased via box office, phone, or online will be automatically refunded to the credit card used at the time of purchase. Tickets purchased at the venue using cash must be returned for a cash refund.
