Alison Krauss cancels bluegrass festival appearance
Singer Alison Krauss, one of the headliners of next weekend's Wide Open Bluegrass Festival in downtown Raleigh, will no longer be performing at the show.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Singer Alison Krauss, one of the headliners of next weekend's Wide Open Bluegrass Festival in downtown Raleigh, will no longer be performing at the show.
Krauss was diagnosed with a vocal condition called dysphonia and unfortunately had to cancel her appearance for treatment and rest.
The singer was originally slated to perform as part of the "epic collaboration" set planned for next Friday, Sept. 27, at Red Hat Amphitheater alongside Del McCoury, Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Tony Rice, Jerry Douglas and Mark Schatz.
Tickets for Friday's performances are nearly sold out.
The International Bluegrass Music Association's Wide Open Bluegrass Festival is a two-day celebration of bluegrass music. The main stages in the Raleigh Convention Center and Red Hat Amphitheater will host some of the best bluegrass lineups of the fall anywhere in the nation. The other half of Wide Open Bluegrass is a free street festival Friday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Sept. 28.
