I like to use a Portabella cap in place of a bun for holding a burger.

FlyingUnderTheRadar - thanks for the info. That is a good price for cherries. I like to grill or sautee the portabella caps with a little cheese on them and then eat them in a sandwich. The portabella is basically the veggie burger and I add lettuce, tomatoes and sauteed onion with some mayo on the roll.

That sounds YUMMY, and I think I have all those ingredients on hand. Thanks JDOUGLAS13!

Flying, have you ever had clams casino? The filling is yummy -- sautéed breadcrumbs, butter or EVOO, garlic, bacon, a bit of white wine (?) and pimento or roasted red peppers. It's has been years since I made them, but I bet the filling (without the clams) would be delicious in your portabella caps!

Eggs at the Louisburg Rd store are $1.59/dozen. I also picked up a pound of black cherries for $2.99, I know not the cheapest fruit out there, but don't know if they will be priced much lower, and I LOVE them!

The Portabella packages are two HUGE caps, now I need to come up with a good stuffing!
