jdouglas13 - I agree about the pumpkin! I have bought the Aldi brand pumpkin many times and really liked it. Thanks for the info on the tomatoes.

I recently tried two of Aldi's canned products to see how we liked them.

The Happy Harvest crushed tomatoes for $0.79 was a disappointment. I had high hopes for it because I use a lot of crushed tomatoes, and this price is great. However, it lacked the rich tomato flavor, and although not listed in the ingredients, it tasted like it had added sugar and even some cheap parmesan or thickener. It reminded me of a lesser brand of jarred spaghetti sauce. I was surprised that I disliked it so much, because I have tried Aldi's tomato paste and thought it was fine.

On the plus side, the canned pumpkin was a hit! I couldn't tell the difference between brand name pumpkin, and it has a nice, rich pumpkin taste. I will definitely be buying it again.
