I got fruit at the FV Aldi. I did have to search for a box with good berries. They are very flavorful, but could be a little sweeter. We are using them in fruit salad. Also got a couple bags of the navel oranges which are very good, juicy and sweet. Haven't tried the kiwi or pineapple yet.

Check over the strawberries really good...several of the containers at the Louisburg location had little furry surprises in them!!

FYI: Eggs 1.19 dozen (Teeter has the better deal this week but this price is not bad)

I've had good and bad strawberries at Aldi. It seems it may even be store specific. The one I normally go to usually has good produce. I went to a different one last week and was sorely disappointed in their selection!

It must be area dependent because I bought 4 lbs of the strawberries two weeks ago at the one in FV and they were ripe and very good. I served a bunch of them at my son's birthday party last weekend and they flew off of the fruit tray.

That's unfortunate, aliput. For the most part, the produce I have bought at Aldi is very good, but the strawberries I bought from them 2 weeks ago were also not the best we have had. We ended up mashing them, adding a little splenda and using them for things like smoothies. I can't wait to get some local fresh strawberries. That is my goal for this weekend! Thanks for sharing your experience.

About 2 weeks ago I purchased 2 lbs of the strawberries. They were hard and dry. What a disappointment. A previous purchase was very good.
