Apple bags at Aldi are usually 2 lb bags.

I'm not even going to comment on the pineapples and how excited I am to see that awesome price again:)

Nakabi, I don't know if you saw it, but I posted the other day that I'd finally visited an Aldi. I went by the pineapples and thought of you! lol They had some awesome filets wrapped in bacon for CHEAP! AND they were excellent tasting as well. I will definitely go back to Aldi!

Packy-I'm glad you liked Aldi!!!! And that's funny you thought of me when you saw the pineapples :) I don't know if you eat pomegranates, but the ones at Aldi aren't the greatest so if you are planning on buying them, I'd pricematch them somewhere else :)

No, I've tried pomegranates before a couple of times and I did NOT like them. Biggest fruits we get are bananas, pears, apples. But thanks. :)

Question about Aldis in general- are you able to consistently find items or is it like Trader Joes where you should buy things when you see them since they may not return?

Right now I see a lot of great items perfect for holiday parties- some of which I think would keep until Dec., but not all. I'm just wondering if they'll still have great deals on things like turkey, ham, cheeses, baking stuff, etc. in a few week's time.

I've really not shopped there before so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to not only be shopping for some charity holiday baskets, but also a non-profit fundraiser for upwards of 75 people. Every penny counts here! :)

Thanks!

rohu-you can find the same items at most any time at Aldi. They are pretty good about restocking. I love their produce prices and they have great chicken breast prices sometimes. Be wary of the bananas though. They are cheaper, but they brown very quickly. I freeze them most of the time for baking so it doesn't bother me, but if you are wanting to eat them fresh make sure to take them out of the bag they come in. The Aldi on Wake Forest Rd is the one I generally shop at and it is always very clean and well stocked.

Awesome! Thank you nakabi!

What's the best way to keep the Aldi bananas from turning brown -- leave them in their original bag or take them out, wash the slimy coating off, and separate them? The ones lately have turned brown really quickly which is surprising since it is really cold in my house.
