Alcohol Involved in Johnston County Crash

Alcohol was involved in two-vehicle accident that left three people injured on U.S. Highway 70 in Johnston County, said police.

WILSONS MILLS — Alcohol was involved in two-vehicle accident that left three people injured on U.S. Highway 70 in Johnston County, said police.

One car crossed the median and struck a second car around 4 a.m. Saturday, said State Highway Patrol officers. The accident occurred in the 5500 block of U.S. 70 just outside of Wilsons Mills.

Johnston County sheriff's deputies found three occupants of the vehicles unresponsive when they responded to the accident.

Two victims were taken to WakeMed, including one with serious injuries and possible head trauma. The third victim was treated at Johnston Memorial Hospital, said troopers.

Police have not released the names of the people involved in the accident.
