RALEIGH, N.C. — Insurance company Aetna will announce Tuesday that it plans to donate $1 million to buy the overdose reversing medication nalaxone for rural North Carolina counties.
The company is expected to announce the donation at a news conference Tuesday morning with Attorney General Josh Stein and the North Carolina Harm Reduction Coalition.
Naloxone reverses the effects of opioids.
