CARY, N.C. — Adams Elementary and Cary Middle schools were on a code yellow lockdown for about 30 minutes Friday after a reported robbery near Cary Towne Center, according to Wake County public schools' spokesman Greg Thomas.

Code yellow means the schools' doors were closed so no one could get in, but activities inside the school remained normal.

The lockdown went into effect around 12:20 p.m. after a teen called police to report that someone held him at knife-point and stole his jacket, according to Cary police spokeswoman Susan Moran.

The lockdown ended by 12:50 p.m. No other information was available.
