Accused robber found dead in Creedmoor

A man accused of robbing a Franklinton convenience store Friday was found dead the next day, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

FRANKLINTON, N.C. — A man accused of robbing a Franklinton convenience store Friday was found dead the next day, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Jeremy Crispell was accused of robbing the J & S Quick Stop at the intersection of N.C. Highway 96 and Long Mill Road on Friday afternoon, according to Det. Ralph Almkuist. Crispell allegedly held the store clerk and customers at gunpoint and made off with about $500.

On Saturday, Crispell was found dead in his grandmother’s yard on Suitt Store Road near Creedmoor. The cause of his death was being investigated. A preliminary report indicated that he died from a drug overdose, authorities said.
