FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — Firefighters responded to a partial collapse of a home under construction on Clayton Road Tuesday morning.

Fire Chief Tony Maudlin said a man was working on the second floor of the house when a piece of plywood fell on him. That caused a chain reaction and the floor fell out from under the man, sending him plunging to the ground.

The man, who was not identified, was taken to WakeMed with injuries Maudlin said were not life-threatening.
