A week of mild temps marred by showers Tuesday
Mild temperatures and mostly clear skies are on tap this week for central North Carolina, although thunderstorms are expected Tuesday evening.
Posted — UpdatedA storm system currently in the Midwest is moving toward the state and should sweep across the Triangle in time for the Tuesday evening commute, WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.
But it’s nothing to worry about.
“We’re not talking about much rain, really,” Gardner said. “A trace to a quarter of an inch.”
The high Tuesday will reach 80 degrees ahead of the storms. For the rest of the week, mornings start out chilly in the 50s and warm into the 70s.
Monday’s high will be 72 degrees with plenty of sunshine.
“Today stays nice and quiet,” Gardner said. “Tomorrow is the day we have the potential for some thunderstorms.”
