ASHEVILLE, NC — A spiritually-inspired artist has brought her talents to the mountains.

Mural artist Amanda Giacomini spent the last couple days painting a mural of Buddha at the Social Lounge. It's part of her 10,000 Buddhas project, which was inspired by cave murals she saw on a visit to India many years ago.

"This image of all these Buddhas together really spoke to me," Giacomini said. "It was something I'd never seen before. It was like a community of people practicing together for the enlightenment and the well being for everyone."

Giacomini has now painted more that 9,900 murals across the U.S. and in other countries. The mural project is also a part of the Asheville Yoga Festival.
