A sweet fundraiser for Okla. storm victims

Sugarland bakery, with locations in Raleigh and Chapel Hill, is holding a fundraiser on Wednesday to help storm victims in Moore, Okla.

RALEIGH, N.C.Sugarland, with locations in Raleigh and Chapel Hill, is holding a fundraiser on Wednesday to help storm victims in Moore, Okla. On May 20, a tornado ripped through Moore killing 24 people and injuring countless others.

All proceeds that day from both stores will be donated to the City of Moore to help with rebuilding efforts. You can also drop off donations of personal hygiene items and gift cards.

Some of the items they are seeking: 

  • Target or Petsmart Gift Cards 
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Soap
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes 
  • Hair ties 
  • Brushes/combs
  • Diapers 
  • Wipes
  • Powdered Formula 
  • First Aid Supplies 
  • Trash Bags 
  • Zip-top bags 
  • Work gloves

People dropping off at least $50 in Target or Petsmart gift cards on Wednesday will get a dozen cupcakes for free. 

If you can't make it there on Wednesday, feel free to drop off items anytime that week.
