A full lineup for Raleigh Beer Week

As Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week comes to a close on Sunday, Aug. 24, we head right into Raleigh Beer Week, a celebration of craft beer in the capital.

RALEIGH, N.C. — As Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week comes to a close on Sunday, Aug. 24, we head right into Raleigh Beer Week, a celebration of craft beer in the capital.

There are a variety of events during the week at venues around the city, ranging from tap takeovers and beer release parties to fundraisers and specials.

Here's the schedule of events:

(Events in bold are our picks, although all of the events sound like fun! Asterisks indicate an event where you can meet the brewers.)

Sunday, Aug. 24
12 p.m.: NC Cask Tappings at The Flying Saucer featuring Big Boss, Deep River and Oskar Blues breweries. Brewery representatives will be there to talk about the beer and answer questions.*
2 p.m.: The Raleigh Showcase at Raleigh Brewing Company. Check out limited edition beers on tap from eight Raleigh breweries.
4 p.m.: Sourfest at Busy Bee. Enjoy sour, tart beer from several breweries.
6 p.m.: Tyler's on White Street. Tapping the Red IPA, in cask and on draft, as well as the coffee porter.
8 p.m.: Fullsteam Brewery Beer Dinner at Garland.
Monday, Aug. 25
5 p.m.: The Raleigh Times Bar presents White Street Czech the Time Release. This Bohemian Kolsch was created to celebrate beer week.
6 p.m.: Anderson Valley Beer Release of Blood Orange Gose at Bottle Revolution. This will be the brewery's first keg tapped in NC. 
7 p.m.: Casks for a Cure at Big Boss. Highlighting casks and drafts from the best homebrewers in the area, this is a big event. Proceeds from the event benefit the ALS Association Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter. 

9 p.m.: TBA at Crank Arm.

Tuesday, Aug. 26
5 p.m.: The Magnificent Michigan Invasion at Tasty Beverage Co. Founder's, Bell's and New Holland breweries will be on tap and representatives from the breweries will be on hand.*
6 p.m.: Return of the Beavers at Bottle Revolution. Some delicious barrel-aged beers will be on tap, including brews from Left Hand, Heavy Seas, and Mother Earth breweries.
7 p.m.: Tyler's Taproom hosts An Evening with the Super Friends. 15 different brewery reps will be in the house.
9 p.m.: Haw River Farmhouse Ales Launch Event at Foundation.
Wednesday, Aug. 27
5 p.m.: Schneider Weisse Triple Tap Takeover at Capital Club 16
7 p.m.: Trophy Brewing Beer Dinner at Buku. Enjoy a five-course dinner for $50.

8 p.m.: TBA at Landmark Tavern

9 p.m.: Suds with Buds at Raleigh Times
Thursday, Aug. 28
12 p.m.: Draft Fundraiser at Lynnwood Grill. Several Raleigh drafts will be on sale for $4, with $1 from each beer benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
5 p.m.: SPCA Fundraiser at Bottle Revolution. New Belgium Brewing is bringing some unique kegs. You can also buy tickets for the chance to win a Fat Tire cruiser. All of the proceeds benefit the Wake County SPCA.
6 p.m.: Highland Brewing 20th Anniversary Party at The Flying Saucer. Celebrate this popular brewery's 20th anniversary with barrel-aged and exclusive cellar beers. Founder and president Oscar Wong will be there.*
7 p.m.: Super Friends Beer Dinner at Busy Bee. Five of their favorite brewery friends will pour five favorites – Bell's Oracle, Allagash Neddles, Terrapin Pumpkin Pie Porter, Victory NATO IPA and 2012 Dogfish Sah'tea.
8 p.m.: Surprise Regional Kegs with upcoming NC Local Breweries at North Street Beer Station
9 p.m.: Cask Competition at Tir na nOg. The kitchen staff and the bar staff face off in a cask tasting competition. 
Friday, Aug. 29
5 p.m.: Allagash Brewing Night at Ridgewood Beer & Wine. Les Addis from Allagash will be there while eight unique beers will be on tap.*
6 p.m.: Bell's Tap Takeover at Landmark Tavern
7 p.m.: Wicked Weed Tap Takeover & Beer Release at Tasty Beverage. Try the third installment of Wicked Weed's Combers series, Lusus Naturae. Head brewer Walt Dickinson will be there.*

9 p.m.: TBA at Brewmaster's

Saturday, Aug. 30
12 p.m.: Hidden Pipe Porter Cask at Lincoln Bottle Shop. Enjoy a cask of Raleigh Brewing's Hidden Pipe Porter, which has been aged on mocha and chocolate since March.
2 p.m.: All Over the NC Map at BottleMixx. All 10 taps will be dedicated to North Carolina breweries, including Ponysaurus, Deep River, Fullsteam, White Street and more.
4 p.m.: Flanders Red Volume 1 Bottle Release at Trophy Brewing.
6 p.m.: Boulevard Brewing Tap Takeover at Capital Club 16
8 p.m.: IPA Exclusive at Woody's City Market. Foothills Brewing is bringing four different styles of IPA to try, including Hoppyum, Jade, Seeing Double and their IPA of the month.
Sunday, Aug. 31

12 p.m.: TBA at Brewmaster's

2 p.m.: Seven Shades of Betty at Lonerider. Experience Shotgun Betty's summer flavors, including Watermelon and Lemon Zest casks.
4 p.m.: Clutching the Lips of Faith at Woody's City Market. The lineup is solely beers from New Belgium's Lips of Faith series.
6 p.m.: Barrel Aged Patio grand opening with the Debonzo Brothers at Trophy Brewing
8 p.m.: Barrel Aged Stout Tap Takeover at Tir na nOg. Five limited release barrel aged stouts are on tap. Some have been aging since 2012.
