Restoration Hardware delivers bundle of furniture to doorsteps nationwide

Posted June 18

— Ever think about having 13 shopping catalogues delivered to your home at once?

Well, that day has come for Restoration Hardware shoppers across the country.

Many have called the company’s latest effort, a bundle of individual books wrapped together and weighing over 15 pounds, a complete waste.

The high-end furniture store calls it a “source book library,” consisting of four lifestyle books and nine category books totaling over 3,300 pages.

The bundle has lit up social media, where people have posted pictures of it used as a step stool, a door stop and even as a throw pillow.

Restoration Hardware says unlike most companies, it sends out catalogues once a year using sustainable material, and has partnered with UPS to make shipping “carbon neutral,” meaning it’s not as ecologically wasteful as some may assume.

One UPS driver said the bundles were heavy and filled his truck – and many people gave them right back.

Still hoping for mine. I miss the "wish books" we used to get from Sears and JCP.
