You've probably had your fair share of the South's take on Mexican food. And while it's good, why not give the taste buds a little surprise with a Californian twist on those delicious Mexican staples. Flavorful and fresh, Baja's burritos, tacos, nachos, quesadillas and taco salads are all made big, bold, hearty and healthy.

As one can conclude, the burritos at Baja Burrito are the main attraction. Massive in size, your plan of attack should include the use of both hands to tackle these creations. Beyond the standard beans, rice, cheese and pico de gallo, choose from one of Baja's signature fillings to turn this burrito into a masterpiece concoction you can be proud of. Consider planning in advance for at least eight visits to try all eight fillings in their entirety, including mole chicken, verde pork, spinach, mixed vegetables, grilled steak, verde chicken and grilled chicken. Actually, make that nine visits with the new addition of the fish burrito. It's everything you would hope for in a burrito with intensely grilled tilapia rounded out with a chipotle cream sauce.

If you need a burrito break, Baja boasts equal satisfaction with their tacos. Described as not your normal taco, these shells are filled to the brim with all the goods plus a signature filling. And of course, Baja caters to the nachos and quesadilla lovers, too.

Locally-owned, Baja Burrito has been serving its California-style Mexican favorites to Raleigh regulars since 1995.
