Former governor James B. Hunt is the keynote speaker for the annual Goodmon Awards Gala next month in Durham. The awards banquet is a fundraiser for Leadership Triangle and recognition of past, present and future leaders in the region.

The event is presented by the Carolina Hurricanes and Compuware, and it will be held Dec. 3 at Bay 7 on the American Tobacco Campus in Durham. Tickets start at $85.

Winners are chosen for exhibiting outstanding regional leadership in action in five categories:

  • Community Service
  • Arts/Entertainment/Sports
  • Economic Development
  • Strategic Partnership
  • Goodmon Fellow

In addition to remarks from Hunt, the evening will include a family-style dinner catered by Crooks Corner and a silent auction.

Ok. This thread has been up 5 days and only 1 comment. That should be a clue that no one else cares about a worthless ex-governor receiving an award. Surely there must be a noteworthy story out there somewhere. Relatives working at the station Jimbo?

"In addition to remarks from Hunt, the evening will include a family-style dinner catered by Crooks Corner.".......CROOKS Corner? My, my. How perfectly appropriate for a former North Carolina governor. The last two should be invited as well.
