The finale of the Got To Be NC Competition Dining Series sold 50 percent of available tickets within 10 minutes Thursday.

"This was one of the most incredible things I've ever seen," said organizer Jimmy Crippen.

The $119 tickets earn guests a seat at the table for a gourmet six-course meal in November at North Hills' Renaissance Raleigh Hotel when the regional champions from "Iron Chef"-style competitions in the Triangle, Triad, west and east compete.

The schedule is as follows:

Nov. 15: George Neal, 1618 Seafood Grille, Greensboro vs. Michael Foreman, Bistro Roca and Antler's Bar, Blowing Rock
Nov. 16: Andy Hopper: Chefs 105, Morehead City vs. Ryan Payne, Weathervane, Chapel Hill
Nov. 17: Battle East vs. West (Nov. 15 winner vs. Nov. 16 winner) SOLD OUT!

The winning chef will receive $4,000 and a customized handmade box set of knives by Ironmade Forge in Charlotte. The runner-up wins $1,000.
