Draft closing, Rocky Top making changes
Draft is closing its doors at the end of the month, but not before trying to help a host of local charities.
Posted — UpdatedStarting Thursday, the restaurant will donate 10 percent of its proceeds each day to a different charity.
"We are ending a great run with Draft Carolina Burgers & Beers and wanted to thank our community for their support by giving back to 12 local charities that are each committed to important missions and make a significant impact," Rocky Top Hospitality owner Dean Ogan said in a press release. "To go out with a bang, we are offering our customers a memorable 12 days of celebration, as well as a chance to contribute to deserving charities."
Here are the local charities benefiting each day:
Draft will also be hosting a special New Year's Eve event. More details on that soon.
In addition, MMI PR, which represents Rocky Top Hospitality, confirmed that Ogan and business partner Jeff Schenk are splitting up the company to focus on separate ventures.
Ogan will be taking control of Twisted Fork, The Daily Planet Cafe at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences and the catering company and event space 1705 Prime.
Ogan will also be taking Rockwell's in Cary, which will turned into Dean's Seafood and Oyster, a resurrection of Ogan's previous restaurant Michael Dean's.
Schenk will take over Tribeca Tavern in Cary and Raleigh and the Mash House brewery and restaurant in Fayetteville.
Are you sad to see Draft go?
