Durham, N.C. — Charges against a suspect accused in a Durham shooting were upgraded to murder Thursday, a day after the victim died from his injuries.
Durham police said Terrell Thomas Inman, 20, is now facing a murder charge in the death of Jelani Kaumua Dandy, who was found lying in the street Monday night with several gunshot wounds.
Dandy was taken to Duke University Hospital, where he died Wednesday, police said.
Inman was initially charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and second-degree kidnapping. He remains in the Durham County jail without bond, police said.
