CHAPEL HILL FORECAST (Thu.)

Originally created to prevent a national chain restaurant from dominating downtown Chapel Hill, Top of the Hill has quickly become the premier destination restaurant and social crossroads of Chapel Hill – a mingling place for graduate students, faculty, town residents, tourists, undergraduates or anyone lucky enough to find themselves in the southern part of heaven.

Our menus have something for every taste, featuring delicious appetizers such as Polynesian Calamari and Franklin Street Nachos, fresh and crisp salads like the Baja Chicken Salad and mouth-watering entrées like Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Goat Cheese Ravioli and French Quarter Jambalaya.

Nothing goes better with delicious food and good company like an ice cold beer so pull up a seat and enjoy the the handcrafted beers of Top of the Hill Brewery.

Our beers have won 18 medals in the World Beer Championships and we were recognized in the World Encyclopedia of Beer as one of the best breweries in the U.S. Although our specialty is English style ales, our Kenan Lager was rated higher than Miller, Budweiser, Foster’s, Kirin, Amstel, Michelob, Dos Equis, Pacifico, Pete’s Summer Ale and Moosehead, in blind competition.

We are first establishment in the South to have a full-time cask-conditioned ale program on premise. Come to our Back Bar to have a pint of “real ale. But as we all know, the best pub experiences aren’t just about the beer. You need good company, too. Don’t worry, we’ve won “Best Bartender in the Triangle” three times and “Best Place to People watch while drinking a beer” twice.

We’re also the proud winner of over 35 local “Best of” awards including, “Best Restaurant in Chapel Hill”, “Best Outdoor Dining in the Triangle” and “Coolest Place on Franklin Street.” The awards are nice, but what really matters is giving you the best time of your life. We hope you’ll come and join us soon. Cheers!
