RALEIGH, N.C. — Big Boi, half of the powerhouse duo Outkast, will not be headlining the upcoming Hopscotch Music Festival in downtown Raleigh.

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, Big Boi will not perform as scheduled," organizers stated in a post on the festival's website. "We learned of this news very recently and have been working hard to both fill Big Boi’s slot and secure a potential make-up date with him later in September."

Big Boi was scheduled to play on Sept. 6 with opening acts Future Islands and Gross Ghost.

The festival is expected to announce Big Boi's replacement and details about any refunds this week.

Nearly 175 bands will play 15 venues throughout downtown Raleigh during Hopscotch on Sept. 5-7. The bands span a variety of genres, including hip hop, indie rock, electronic, heavy metal and old-time music.
