RALEIGH, N.C. – As the center of entertainment and nightlife on Glenwood South, Bia and Solas is boosting off the spring season with several community and fundraising events for charities: Learn Together, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Alzheimer’s Association.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of so many great events in our community,” says Solas general manager Scott Kleczkowski. “Solas is a beautifully dynamic venue that can really help shed light on these remarkable causes.”

On Saturday, April 27, Solas will host the 2nd Annual Triangle Rock, Paper, Scissor Showdown for Learning Together, a private nonprofit that meets the developmental, educational, and health needs of children of all abilities. The fundraiser, which is a March Madness-style roshambo tournament will benefit Learning Together and start at 6:00 p.m. Individuals can buy a General Admission ticket, which includes a bracket slot, food, and a Triangle RPS gift, for $30, or a VIP ticket, which grants them a bracket slot with a bye through to the second round, for $45. Food will be prepared by Bia’s chef.

On Wednesday, May 1, Group3 Communications account manager Sarah Styron will make her last splash at Ride the Last Wave, a beach-themed rooftop party, as her final fundraising event of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s ten-week 2013 Man & Woman of the Year campaign. By making a $20 donation to attend, every dollar raised benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and counts as one vote for Sarah Styron as 2013 Triangle Woman of the Year! From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., come in sandals and beach tees for this Last Wave rooftop celebration!

On Wednesday, May 22, the brunette players of Blondes vs Brunettes Raleigh, a powderpuff football team raising awareness and funds for the Alzheimer's Association, will tend to the bar from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease and blondes! Enjoy an evening of hors d'oeuvres provided by Bia, music, networking, raffle prizes from local businesses and meet the players. All of ticket sales go directly to the Alzheimer's Association.
