    So what really happened here?

"There's is always a happy ending to silver alerts or amber alerts... "

Sadly that is NOT the case.

However in this case she was found safely and I'm going to guess she did a normal 16 yo thing and just didn't come home.

I don't think the family should be charged anything; the last thing you'd want to do is discourage folks from making an emergency alert due to being afraid of the bill if things work out well. Now if we're talking about repeat offenders, different story.

There's is always a happy ending to silver alerts or amber alerts... "Such and such was found safe! No details!"

There is a fine line to consider. Most everyone of these cases make a claim that the person is without their "medication". I don't want to get into anyone's personal affairs; but exactly what type of medication qualifies in these instances? Would an aspirin meet the criteria???

And why would we be charging the family for "wasted resources"? Would the resources have been put to better use if the girl had been abducted and murdered?

  • JuicyDeetts Jun 24, 2013

Well, I dont believe that the public deserve an explanation. I was one of the last to see her and provide assistance to the police in finding her. And I don't feel I need an explanation, only to know that she was found safe.

Charge the family for the cost of the time, resources, and manpower.

It's sad to waste resources . We deserve an explanation.

Thank goodness she was found safe...

It is sad when we automatically fear the worst!
