This drama of six men on death row asks us to experience a day-in-their-lives, as they explore personal inheritances of violence, racism, loss and surprising love. Count, written by Lynden Harris, is co-produced with the North Carolina based collective, Hidden Voices, and is directed by Kathryn Hunter-Williams, member of the PlayMakers resident acting company, in her PlayMakers directorial debut. The production is based on years of conversations conducted by Lynden and Kathy with men on death row around the United States. Following each performance will be a free talkback discussion between audience members, the creative team, and community members from local and state legal, government, and social services organizations. On August 23, invited speakers include Representative Graig Meyer (D), and UNC School of Law professor Michael Gerhardt.
