911 lines back up in several eastern N.C. counties

In several eastern North Carolina counties, 911 telephone lines were temporarily down Sunday afternoon.

Wilson, Vance, Rocky Mount, Tarboro, Halifax, Franklin, Edgecombe, Nash and Northampton counties experienced problems with 911 calls for a few hours.  All lines were working properly by 6:45 p.m.

It is not yet known, what caused the outages. Service for these lines is provided by Embarq.

    rmgirl is right on, they don't have to look any further for problems if embarq is involved.

    embarq is the cause..terrible service and even worse customer service!
