DURHAM, N.C. — Callers told 911 dispatchers that it sounded like a "shoot-out" was erupting on Delano Street in Durham early Sunday.

Police said that someone opened fire on a crowd of about 70 people attending party at a house at 1102 Delano St. around 4 a.m. Seven men and one woman, ranging in age from 19 to 45, were injured, including two seriously.

A woman who called 911 said that, "We're having a shoot-out down here on Delano Street."

A second woman who called 911 said that it sounded like two different guns were being fired.

When asked how many shots were fired, she responded, "Like a bunch."

Police said the residence was being used as a "liquor house," which is slang for a place that sells and serves liquor without a license or permit.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
