9 hurt in Johnston County multi-vehicle crash

Posted October 14, 2014

— A five-vehicle wreck in Johnston County sent nine people to the hospital Tuesday afternoon, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

None of the people was seriously hurt.

The wreck happened about 2:45 p.m. in the 6000 block of Applewhite Road near Wendell. Troopers said traffic along the road was slowing when a driver rear-ended another vehicle. That collision caused a domino effect, and all five vehicles were damaged.

The driver, a 20-year-old woman whose name was not immediately released, was charged with failing to reduce speed and unsafe tires, troopers said.

The Wendell zip code takes in a small chunk of northern Johnston County. I know, that's where I live (Archer Lodge). Wendell mailing address and a Clayton phone number!

I have friends living in Johnston County and their address is Angier but Harnett county is only a few miles away. I know for a fact that at least Zebulon is Wake County. No matter, just glad no one was seriously hurt.

Johnston County is also just outside of Wendell. Angier is in Harnett county. Part of Zebulon is in Wilson county.

Wendell, Knightdale and Zebulon are all Wake County. Johnston county is down near Angier. I am confused.
