— A Raeford man was sentenced Tuesday to at least 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges he sexually molested two girls.

Hoke County sheriff's investigators arrested Jack Deloy Edwards, 70, in September after they found a video and photos of the two girls being molested in his home.

Edwards pleaded guilty to two counts of statutory sexual offense, two counts of indecent liberties with a child, two counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 99 counts each of second and third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

I'm just wondering how the DA managed to get 99 counts for one of the charges. That seems like the number was made up on the spot.

I've read that child molesters can't be rehabilitated. This would appear to prove that.

I get so sick and tired of these perverts continuing to commit such crimes....why should it have to take someone else being harmed before any action is taken.

Right now, in Wayne County, there is a sex offender who is living in two places. He lists one address on the registry but has been living at another address for well over a year. The sheriff dept. knows about it, but nothing is being done or has been done. I hope it doesn't take someone getting harm by this man before any action is taken.

He will encounter the business end of a shank. May as well keep him in solitary confinement the rest of his natural life.
