62-year-old man found beaten in his home dies in Fayetteville

A man who officials said was found unconscious and beaten inside his Fayetteville home died Sunday at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man who officials said was found unconscious and beaten inside his Fayetteville home died Sunday at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Jeffrey Ander Brewington, 62, was discovered Friday around 9:30 p.m. in his home on the 2100 block of Goins Drive. According to officials, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department found Brewington after receiving a call requesting a well-being check.

Authorities said several missing items led them to believe the incident stemmed from a robbery.

The incident is under investigation. Officials are offering up to a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect or suspects.
