6-year-old boy shot in head, father injured in North City double shooting

A father and his 6-year-old son were shot in north St. Louis Tuesday evening, police said.

NORTH ST. LOUIS — A father and his 6-year-old son were shot in north St. Louis Tuesday evening, police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the 2100 block of Adelaide shortly after 6 p.m.

According to police, the 29-year-old was in a car with his 6-year-old son and an 8-year-old boy when another car, possibly a silver four-door sedan, drove up and a suspect inside started firing shots. Another suspect reportedly approached the car on foot and also started shooting.

The 6-year-old was shot in the head. Police said his father was shot in the leg. The 8-year-old was not injured.

The father then drove to a hospital.

The 6-year-old boy was listed in critical but unstable stable condition. The father is was listed in critical but stable condition.

The shooting was one of three that occurred in North City Tuesday evening.
