6 car hit and run leaves 2 dead in Williamson County, Texas

Posted September 1

— A major crash had portions on Texas 29 closed in both directions Wednesday evening, after a 2006 Ford F-150 pulled out of a convenience store near Williamson County Road and Texas 29.

The crash happened just before 7:30 pm Wednesday, when the Ford F-150 driven by 36 year old John Gonzales was pulling out of the store when he then struck two vehicles.

Gonzales fled the scene traveling westbound on Texas 29 about 1/4 of a mile on the wrong side of the road when he struck a 2016 Dodge Ram and a 2004 Dodge Ram.

Both the driver and passenger of the 2004 Ram were pronounced dead on the scene.

The occupants of the 2004 Ram are identified as 29 year old Jorge Montoya-Balderas and 23 year old Marcelo Montoya-Balderas, both of Cedar Park, Texas.

Gonzales was flown to Dell Seton Medical Center with critical injuries.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash. It is unclear if the social media rumors of a gas shortage were a factor, but authorities are saying that it could be a possibility.
