Federal funds for rebates on energy efficient appliance purchases have all been claimed, a state spokesman said Monday.

The Energy Star Appliance and Rebate program allocated about $1.3 million in rebates in the first week of June for consumers who bought new appliances to replace older, less efficient ones.

North Carolina was allotted nearly $9 million in federal money for the program, but about 90 percent was used in Phase One of the program in April.

Consumers who applied for rebates will receive a prepaid debit card for the amount of their rebate.
