RALEIGH, N.C. — Every Friday, 5 on Your Side highlights the top- and bottom-scoring restaurants in health inspections.

Most restaurants fall in the middle of the scale, so we turn to viewers for the Restaurant Ratings by Request segment to find out which restaurants they want to hear about.

The last three regular inspection reports are obtained, so viewers can have an idea of the restaurant's history, which shows a more complete picture of its ongoing sanitation practices.

Some restaurants receive a two-point bonus for attending a food safety course. Those aren't included in the Restaurants by Request segment because they have nothing to do with the actual sanitation of the restaurant at the time of the inspection.
