— Harris Teeter issued a voluntary recall Wednesday of its Fresh Foods Market Chocolate Jalapeño Glass dessert and was searching for shoppers that purchased the product in the past week at several stores, including two in the Triangle.

Shoppers that purchased the product at Harris Teeter stores at Leesville Towne Center on Strickland Road in Raleigh and Stone Creek Village on Cornerstone Drive in Cary are asked to return it to any Harris Teeter for a double refund.

The UPC on the Fresh Food Market Chocolate Jalapeño Glass dessert is 20981000000. The product contains soy, wheat and hazelnut, which aren't declared on the ingredient list on the product packaging. Consumption of the product by anyone who has soy, wheat or hazelnut allergies could result in a serious reaction.

Any customers with questions or concerns can call Harris Teeter customer relations at 1-800-432-6111.

Did you hear that Dolly Pardon bought the old Big Star grocery store chain and has now bought the Harris Tetter and the Piggly Wiggly? She's going to merge them all together and call them Big Wiggly Tetters

there's alway some one that has to be deadly serious. They just can't let people have some fun. All doom and gloom.

I know the name of the dessert has to bring a laugh, but really joking about the possible consequences that could occur due to an allergic reaction is really nothing to joke about. My daughter has a deadly allergy to hazelnut. Last time she mistakenly had a dessert containing hazelnut without her knowledge she was over in England at Oxford studying for the summer. Shortly after eating it her roommate found her huddled in the shower stall unable to breathe, turning blue. Her throat and face had swollen. Fortunately she was rushed to the hospital and given the appropriate shot. Needless to say if her roommate had not found her, she would have died. So I don't joke about the possible allergic reactions that could happen in cases of mislabeled food items.
