Search For Unclaimed Money, Property In N.C.
Daniel Callopy found out he was owed more than $2,200 in cash from the State Treasurer's office.
Collopy said he checked the treasurer's Web site before, but she did not find his name. After a call from Five On Your Side, he called again.
"Sure enough, the man said I had a claim," he said.
Callopy said he has no idea where the unclaimed money came from. Now he just knows you should not assume you do not have some cash coming to you.
"Call the number. I didn't believe it either until I called the number," he said.
The State Treasurer's Office is holding more than $500 million in unclaimed property. To find out if you are owed money, you can check out the
