Apex Man Reunited With Unclaimed Money

e-mail print friendly

The State Treasurer's office is holding more than $500 million in unclaimed property. Five On Your Side gets the lists of people who have money coming to them, then calls to let them know. Five On Your Side found one man who was happy to get that call.

"I didn't really know what to expect or what to think, honestly," said Bill Isley.

Five On Your Side found that the state is holding almost $3,646.98 of Isley's money. The money was from a sport utility vehicle he sold more than 10 years ago.

"The transaction just got misplaced. I moved on into a new job and things just got lost in the shuffle. Basically, but I certainlly recall the transaction very clearly now," Isley said.

Isley said he has big plans for the unexpected money.

"I may donate some to my favorite charity or put it in the bank, make some investments, who knows? I don't know yet," he said. "I haven't had a lot of time to think about that just yet. I'm just too happy."

So far, Five On Your Side has found almost $180,000 for the viewers. If you think you are owed money from the state, you can go to the state's unclaimed property
