State Inspectors Alloow Restaurant to Reopen

Dunn, N.C. — A Harnett County restaurant is open again after being shut down last week because of roaches.

When inspectors went to the Mandarin House in Dunn last Friday, they said, a roach infestation was so severe that they had to immediately close the restaurant.

Over the weekend, the owner told us Wednesday, he removed all of the equipment, thoroughly cleaned everything and brought in an exterminator.

This week, inspectors rechecked the restaurant and allowed it to reopen.

Mandarin House has had roach problems before. A November inspection report noted the bugs.

The eatery's last three regular scores on inspection reports were 83.5, 88.5 and 81.5.

Wednesday, the owner told us the roaches are gone. He added that it is just hard to run a restaurant.

I love this place. I've eaten there a few times and don't care if there are roaches. One of the signs of a great restaurant is a few bug. Back in Texas the best Mom and Pop eateries were restaurants where the roaches were used to deliver your order to you. If you got the occasional leg or half baked roach in your meal you either thanked Jesus for the extra protein, or gave it to you buddy as a gag. He'd usually eat it up with gratitude. Ya'll think about that the next time you go to a place with a rating of 83.

i will never eat at a place that has roaches. restaurant or home. I fear all that crawls or squirms etc.

I ate there this past saturday 3/10 and sunday morning I was very sick and come to find out I had Food Poison... I know it was b/c of this place. That was the only place I ate at all weekend long besides my house and i know i didnt get it from home... I will never eat there again. EVER
