e-mail print friendly
Family Dollar Stores Inc. has recalled oscillating ceramic heaters because of a  potential fire hazard.

The chain recalled about 35,000 heaters, which can overheat and smoke, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

There have been three reports of the heaters overheating or smoking, but none have caused fires. There were two reports of minor property damage.

The recalled product is a 1500-watt oscillating ceramic heater. It has a white plastic housing with the name "Heat-Wave" in black on its top, and a label on the product contains the control number "ETL 3090262."

The heaters were sold at Family Dollar stores nationwide from September through November.

For more information, consumers can contact Family Dollar at 800-547-0359 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or visit the firm’s Web site at www.familydollar.com.
