Harris Teeter updated Super Doubles and ad deals 8/10!

Posted August 10, 2011

Here is the updated list of both Super Doubles good deals AND the best deals from the ad starting 8/10! It’s a comprehensive list grouped by FREE items first and then deals by product type. Please post any additional deals you find here and then post your totals in the brag thread so we can all share how we did.

Harris Teeter Super Double Coupon Policy Basics:

* HT begins super doubling coupons at 7:00 AM on the first day of the sale. 24 hour stores do not super double coupons before 7:00 AM on the first day (at least that is how it has worked in the past).

* HT will Super Double coupons worth up to $1.98 face value. A $1.50 coupon will double to $3.00. A $1.00 coupon will double to $2.00. A $2.00 coupon will not double at all and will only be taken at face value ($2.00).

* HT will super double/double up to 20 coupons per day. Period. End of story. Spouse's cards registered with the same address are linked because the policy is 20 per household, per day. If you have 20 $1 coupons and 20 .75 coupons, only 20 total will double. They will not double 20 coupons that are under $1 and also super double another 20 coupons that are over $1. It's 20 total coupons doubled per day.

* HT policy is to double up to 3 identical coupons (as long as you buy the product required for each coupon, of course). So, if you have five $1.00 coupons for a product, the policy is to only super double the first three.

* HT policy is to not double coupons that indicate Do Not Double. With that said, some stores allow doubling of those coupons if they double automatically at the register. Some stores will double Do Not Double coupons and some will not. In the list below, I will include (DND) next to the deal if the coupon indicates Do Not Double.

Senior discount: Seniors 60 and older receive a 5% discount every Thursday. Discount applies after coupons are deducted.

e-coupons: Don’t forget to add the e-coupons to your Harris Teeter VIC card and remember, you can stack the e-coupons with manufacturer coupons to maximize savings. The link to your e-coupons are in your Wednesday e-Vic e-mail.

Thanks to Nancy, Ashley, hotcouponworld.com and everyone who posted on the super doubles thread with coupon match-ups! I REALLY appreciate all your help putting together these lists!

Frustrating shopping trip at the Harris Teeter #0136 (9600 Falls of the Neuse Rd. Raleigh, NC) I usually shop at the HT in Chapel Hill or the one of Leesville Rd, but I stopped at this one since it’s the closest to my house and on my way home. Big mistake! For the second time in 10 days, one of the managers harassed me because of my coupon use. (1st problem) When I first got the register, he “warned” the cashier. (2nd problem) As I am checking out, he feels the need to bring over the coupon policy poster. I informed him that I know and understand the coupon policy well and I was doing nothing wrong. (3rd problem) He accused me of using copied internet coupons since I had 2. I informed him that was not the case; I showed him that they had 2 different barcode numbers and that most of the time you can print up to 2 coupons. (4th problem) I purchased 2 boxes of Mueller “regular” macaroni elbow pasta since HT does not carry the Mueller whole grain macaroni elbow pasta. They did no

Hi, I've been checking prices @ HT stores in Durham. I wanted to ask if HT increases their prices as the weekend nears? The HF smoked sausage links were BOGO for $5.99. Also, the OM franks BOGO were $3.99, and I noticed several other prices were higher than shoppers have found them elsewhere. Thanks Faye, for the great tips.

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Aug 12, 2011

Thanks Linda! - sent you an e-mail already. :-)

Thanks anyway, Oxy! Love you quote: "Making couponing converts, one freebie at a time. :)"

  • Nanee Lion Aug 11, 2011

    Faye,

I have cheese coupons that I will share with you. Call me when you come to the Post Office in Clayton and I'll try to meet you with them. I'll send you an email with my phone number.

I have already sealed the envelope with the other coupons that I am sending you.

    Huh?

Well, had I SEEN you in the North Hills HT while *I* was there today, I'd have given you a couple of the Sargento Qs. I gave a couple to a woman who was picking them up because the sale price was too good to pass up, and she was THRILLED when I told her they'd be free.

Making couponing converts, one freebie at a time. :)

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Aug 11, 2011

Thanks Oxy - I have the $1 LA Looks coupons so I am good to go. I do wish I had the Sargento coupons, though. They were off of all the penguins I saw when it came out in June. No cheese for me.....(insert whining voice here). lol

FYI - Used a Hillshire Farms deli meat printable today with the new bar code only at the North Hills HT. It would not scan on the fixed scanner but when the cashier used the hand scanner, it scanned just fine.

  • Oxymoron02 Aug 10, 2011

8 oz Sargento shredded cheese are BOGO, and with the $1 off any 8 oz or larger Sargento coupon from the Penguin, these are FREE!

Don't really need more cheese right now, but who am I to turn down free.

And Faye, be on the look-out for 75 cent off peelies on the LA Looks gel. :D

"Do coupons that say "do not double" really double or not?" - dancingdesserts.

Ok, officially, the policy for HT reads that if it states DND, that they *should not* double - those are the exact words. Basically, it comes down to the managers in the stores whether they instruct their associates to just scan the coupons and if they double, that's the way it will be handled.

There are some HT's that do pull out coupons that specify DND or DNT and they enter them manually so they won't double.

All I can tell you is if you're finding a HT that does that, pulls and manually enters, see if you can conveniently shop at a different HT that does just scan and let them double.

There are some coupons that will not double when scanned, those begin with a "9" on the simple one line barcode. But, there is a new complex double stacked barcode that is being transitioned to and that will change a lot of things, one being that DND can be programmed into the barcode and it won't double when scanned.

  • jeriwho Aug 10, 2011

@intocoupons, I simply called HT's customer service and they walked me through it. Apparently they get a lot of requests for help from e-vic customers who still cannot load ZVRs. Here is the HT cust service number: 1-800-432-6111
