For those of you are just now planning a trip, the Kroger in Apex was completely wiped out of General Mills cereal this morning. There were a couple boxes of banana nut cheerios and a few large boxes of Multigrain cheereios, but they were both still well over $2 after the $6 off 4. The rest of the shelves were bare.

Luckily I still got great deals on produce, bread, and some free body wash so the trip wasn't a bust.

kpeele- thanks! I used to get the Garner/Clayton paper on weds, but it stopped around the time I started subscribing to the N&O- which has the G/C paper but not the same inserts... so now I don't get the HT or FL weekly ads, at a minimum. Makes me go hmmmm...

des2030, the Dawn coupon will be coming out in the Proctor and Gamble coupon insert in Sunday's paper. I got a free copy of the Smithfield paper delivered to my house yesterday and it had 3 of the inserts that will be in Sunday's paper so I could go ahead and get the deal this week at Kroger. Seems like some people get the free mid-week papers and some don't, and sometimes they have coupons and sometimes they don't, and sometimes they are last week's coupons and sometimes they are the upcoming coupons.

  • des2030 Jul 28, 2011

Hey all, where did the Dawn coupon come from? If it's online, will someone please post a link?

Thanks! I love reading everyone's comments. senglish, you gave me a good chuckle about DC couponing!

  • kpeele Jul 27, 2011

If anyone got the upcoming P&G coupon inserts in a free paper today you can use the $0.50/1 Dawn coupon to get free Dawn at Kroger this week since the small bottles are on sale for $1.00.

Wow, Nancy! I think I have a boatload of printable coupons expiring in the next couple of days -- guess I need to sit down and do some serious matching! Most of the cereal overstock goes to the local food pantry, or to a couple of struggling friends, and they each LOVE getting cereal.

Heh heh heh -- the sr. discount added up to a whopping 49 cents yesterday. But a nickel here and a quarter there, and pretty soon there's enough saved to buy lunch. Too bad the folks in Washington aren't couponers..... *giggle*

Ahem - just found out the HT add includes these items on sale starting tomorrow, need more cereal? LOL

    Froot Loops $1.59
    Apple Jacks $1.59
    Frosted Flakes $1.64
    Rice Krispies $1.79

I made a quick pass by Kroger on my way home from work today -- mainly so I could add my senior discount to the fabulous sales! Didn't do too poorly, especially considering the state of the cereal shelves.

I managed to get 5 boxes of cereal (found yellow box cheerios on an end cap, thanks to whoever mentioned that!), 2 boxes of FO 90 cal bars, and one box of golden grahams treats, plus two bottles of Ivory body wash, and my total OOP was $4.12! Gotta say, I'm pretty pleased.

Plus I asked the stocker when they expected their next truck, so I'll be heading back later in the week to try again. :-)
