I don't know how I did it but I went to HT on Saturday to get my paper towels and pop tarts. I also got 3 of the snickers pb squared. The candy ended up being a 1cent MM.

Thanks. That's what I thought when I looked up the HT policy. I read it the same way you do. We started couponing in January, but have to drive about 25 miles to get to a Harris teeter. So,I need to make sure I can get all my shopping done in one trip.

jwill - here is what is directly from corporate HT policy on coupon limits:

We accept 20 double coupons per day per customer/household with VIC card; all others redeemed at face value. No orders may be separated that would allow the 20 coupon limit or any other coupon limits to be exceeded.

So, if I were you I would talk to the store manager when you go back and find out why the coupons (2) that you presented were not taken off your order!

And if the answer is not satisfactory, I would pull out their coupon policy and hand it to him to see if he changes his mind.

If he still insists on 20 max total, I would call corporate and explain what you were told, naming the manager and the store location and when you talked to him.

I don't think corporate would be pleased if he has taken to limiting 20 coupons total vs 20 coupons doubled :(

jwill, from what i understand, HT will double up to 20 coupons a day but i think you can use as many as you want...but they only double 20. hope this helps

I have a question. When I was at HT tonight, I noticed a sign that states that there is a new policy. 20 coupons total limit per day. I thought they only doubled 20, but the rest are taken at face value. I also checked my receipt and I gave 22 coupons but only 20 were on the receipt. Does anyone know what the policy is? I usually have coupons that are more than $1 and have never counted them towards my limit. Thanks

For those bemoaning their luck on the "targeted" eVIC specials ....

I went to CS once to ask what my eVIC specials were. The guy didn't know they printed on the receipt, so he pulled out a book and began flipping though. Turns out HT chooses a bunch of stuff to put on special and then further chooses from that list which few offers to make to you.

For example, I buy all of my condiments at HT (sale plus coupon = free an awful lot), so I was "targeted" the Grey Poupon a couple of months back. I've never bought Grey Poupon in my life, but somehow their algorithm pegged me as someone who might be drawn in to the store with a deal on it.

I find that the more I do my regular shopping there, not just hit loss leaders, the more accurate and appropriate to my needs the "targeted" offers are.

I got Biltmore, lunch meat, Blue Bunny cones, HT TP, Kraft cheese and the bread.

And excuse the plug here, new couponers - we have two coupon swaps coming up (they happen once a month) in Benson and in Fuquay Varina if you would like to join in and share/find coupons!

    July 19th 10:30am in Benson @ McDonalds at I-40 & Hwy 210 exit.

July 19th 7:00pm in Fuquay Varina @ Wendy's on Main St across from Aldi's.

Just bring clipped coupons you don't need for sharing and be prepared to flip through quite a few that others bring!

We have lots of chatter and sharing and fun!

~You may now resume your regularly scheduled postings ;)~

rayne, and anyone else who would like a copy of the spreadsheet I use (it's in Excel so you'd have to have that on your computer) just email and I'll send it to you.

It was a spreadsheet that was on Sue Strocks old blog on the N&O and I've adapted it to my needs but it will work for you no problem! I has all the grocery/drug stores listed etc. Very easy to pump in the data and let it do it's thing!

I'll be on later tonight and will happily send it along to anyone who wants to give it a whirl! It keeps me focused AND motivated to beat my savings goals :)

Nancy, I just read your post about your spreadsheet & love that idea. Is there a special program I would need to download to do the same thing. I would love to be able to show my Fiance just how much couponing actually does save over a year. He was laughing at me when I first started couponing, but now he wants to lear too.
