On the menu this week we have our July 4th cookout, creamy chicken and rice, taco bar, homemade veggie pizza and more. What's on your menu this week?

July 4th cook-out!

Hot dogs -Oscar Mayer Beef on sale BOGO at Lowes Food through 7/5 with $1/2 coupon and Ball Park fat free smoked turkey hot dogs (which I love with only 50 calories per hot dog and NO fat) on sale with coupon at Lowes Foods through 7/5

Hot dog buns (Ball Park buns on sale for $1.50 at Lowes Foods through 7/5 - .55/1 coupon = .40 per package – a great deal!)

Pasta salad using green peppers, tomatoes and onion from local veggie stand and black olives that were on sale a couple weeks ago. Light Kraft mayo was on sale with $1/2 coupon. McCormick pasta salad seasoning was on sale during super doubles a few months ago with $1 coupon. If you haven’t tried the McCormick pasta salad seasoning, you are missing out. It adds the perfect zing to pasta and I highly recommend it (especially when it is free with sale and coupons. LOL)

Fruit salad – sister-in-law is bringing it

Pies – sister-in-law is bringing them

Brownies (iced and decorated like a flag, of course!

Turkey and tortilla roll-ups

Leftover pasta salad

Spinach enchiladas

Spanish rice

Tomato and cucumber salad

Creamy chicken and rice (chicken was on sale at Lowes Foods a couple weeks ago. It is on sale at Kroger this week for $1.79/lb, Philly cooking cream was free at HT super doubles, rice was also free with sale and coupons a couple months ago)

Sautéed squash and onions (squash on sale for .99/lb at Kroger)

Homemade pizza

Taco bar

I get yellow squash at a little produce cart that is on the honor system about .5 miles from my house for 6/$1! I also made homemade pasta for the first time today and it was a success! Hubby loved it and it cost less than .10 for my huge pot of it!

    Our menu:
Sunday- turkey burgers (butterball with $1.50/1 coupon), homemade mac and cheese, salad. The turkey burgers were VERY good. I got them at wal-mart for $7.38 and used the $1.50/1. You get 6 large burgers so enough for 2 meals for us.

Monday- out to eat to celebrate a friend's birthday and the 4th.

Tuesday- Teriyaki chicken breasts, steamed rice with veggies, egg rolls.

Wednesday- Turkey meatballs in a mushroom gravy over noodles, broccoli.

Thursday- chicken and cheese quasadilas, raw veggies with dip.

Friday- whole wheat hamburger helper, green beans.

Saturday- not sure yet...maybe a big breakfast meal?
